Giving Day is here and the Werklund School of Education is stepping up to the challenge.
In celebration of U91快色鈥檚 50th anniversary, Giving Day, a fundraising event focused on supporting students through scholarships and awards, will run for 50 hours with the goal of raising funds for 50 new scholarships.
At the Werklund School, The has been launched, and during the Giving Day period, gifts to Lisa鈥檚 scholarship will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $2500 per donor, providing a great opportunity to double personal impact and to honour the memory of a colleague and friend.
Pledges have already started coming in, and as of this morning more than $5200 has been raised towards Lisa鈥檚 memorial award. 鈥淲hile this is wonderful news,鈥 says Werklund School Dean Dennis Sumara, 鈥渨e still need more support to help grow this award into a sustained endowment.鈥
鈥淓veryone can participate--and every gift, no matter the size, has an impact,鈥 explains Cecilia de la Rocha, Director of Development for the Werklund School.
