Nursing alumni have a rich history of giving back to students
Kate Wong encourages others to participate in Giving Day between April 27 to 29.
The Faculty of Nursing Alumni Committee has a rich history of giving back to nursing students. Since 1993, when the first spring luncheon and silent auction was planned (for the purpose of creating scholarships or bursaries for nursing students), the alumni has raised funds to enhance educational experiences of students by alleviating some of the financial burden they encounter.
So it is no surprise that the alumni committee has come forward with a substantial gift for both undergraduate and graduate students.
鈥淓veryone deserves a chance at an education, a chance to make a meaningful impact, and that鈥檚 what nursing does,鈥 says Kate Wong, current co-president of the committee. 鈥淚f alumni can help ease the burden, we are happy to do that.鈥
The alumni committee鈥檚 contribution of $2,500 each for two bursaries will be matched by U91快色 Giving Day, totalling $5,000 for an undergraduate award and $5,000 for a graduate award. Wong encourages others to participate in Giving Day between April 27 to 29.
