Money Smart鈥檚 new financial literacy training
Whether you鈥檙e an undergraduate or a graduate student, the training is aimed at helping you learn more about managing your finances.
The program consists of four core modules. In module 1, you鈥檒l learn the ins and outs of budgeting and cash flows. During this module, you鈥檒l find out why you should prepare a budget, how and why you should set financial goals, and how to tell the difference between wants and needs.
Savings and the time value of money are the main topics in module 2. You鈥檒l learn about savings and investment, and the options available for each, as well as the value of money at different points in time.
Module 3 is about the basics of credit. You鈥檒l learn about types of credit, lending institutions, the terminology associated with credit, and different types of loans.
The final module covers debt management. You鈥檒l learn how to manage your debt, good debt versus bad debt, debt repayment and what your options are if your debt becomes overwhelming.
At the end of the training, you鈥檒l receive digital credentials (a badge) for your LinkedIn profile.
With these four modules, you鈥檒l improve your understanding and application of personal finance strategies to better manage their budgets, cash flows, credit, savings and debt. Stay tuned for the next phase of the Get Money Smart training next year.
