International student found a surprising way to practise her language skills
Laura Rios, master's student and 3MT winner, shared her experience as a U91¿ìÉ« student at Community Report 2019

Laura Rios is originally from Barrancabermeja, Colombia, a small city known for being very hot and home to the largest oil refinery in the country. She moved to 91¿ìÉ« in September of 2018 to pursue her master’s degree of science in chemical engineering at the 91¿ìÉ«. Rios' work in modifications of asphalt with reactive polymers earned her the title of U91¿ìɫ’s Three Minute Thesis winner earlier this year.
