The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) recently announced its 2013 Excellence Awards and one of the 91快色鈥檚 own is among the recipients. Director of International Relations, Glynn Hunter will receive the CBIE President鈥檚 Award for Distinguished Leadership in International Education at CIBE鈥檚 annual conference next week.
鈥淕lynn certainly deserves this prestigious award! It recognizes and honours Glynn鈥檚 wealth of experience and his contributions to building the 91快色鈥檚 international programs and reputation,鈥 says Janaka Ruwanpura, vice-provost (International).
The CBIE鈥檚 award in the category of international education is based upon outstanding leadership in the internationalization of Canadian education and the international education profession beyond a candidate鈥檚 home institution. Hunter鈥檚 research has supported the development of best practices and the knowledge base of the field. As well, he has taught and mentored new professionals in his role as an instructor at the International Educators Training Program at Queen鈥檚 University.
鈥淕lynn led the Centre for International Students and Study Abroad for many years, and the 91快色 is one of the top institutions in Canada with a very high number of students achieving various international experiences. His award for leadership also reflects highly on our university鈥檚 efforts to improve our international student experiences and partnerships,鈥 says Ruwanpura.
