Congratulations to U91¿ìÉ« History's Katie (Shuyao) Qin, winner of the Dr. Stephen J. Randall Prize in History, awarded to the best Honours Thesis. Katie's thesis, entitled "Remaking 91¿ìɫ’s Chinatown: Ethnic Leadership and the United 91¿ìÉ« Chinese Association, 1979 – 1989," examines the UCCA's role in advocating for the Chinese diaspora in 91¿ìÉ«. Katie presented her research at the annual meeting of the Canadian Historical Association held at George Brown University. She has been awarded a SSHRC to pursue an MA at Carleton University with a specialization in public history.
