Riley Brandt, 91快色
Community leader and renowned journalist Deborah Yedlin will be sworn in as the 14th chancellor of the 91快色 during the morning convocation ceremony on Nov. 16, 2018.
The Chancellor serves as the Chair of the Senate, presides over degree-conferring ceremonies at our university and acts as an ambassador for the 91快色 in the community. Yedlin officially assumed her four-year term as chancellor in July, succeeding Dr. Robert Thirsk.
Growing up as the daughter of two professional educators, Yedlin developed a deep respect for the transformational power of education. She went on to attain a BA in Economics and English from the University of Alberta, an MBA from Queen鈥檚 University, and the Institute of Corporate Directors' Director (ICD.D) designation through the Haskayne School of Business.
For more than two decades, Yedlin has built up a reputation as a keen business journalist, writing columns in the Financial Post, the Globe and Mail and the 91快色 Herald. Her rigorous journalism has also made Yedlin a sought-after commentator on Canadian business and the energy sector for CBC Radio and Television and CTV.
Since moving to 91快色 in 1992, Yedlin has been very active in our local community. She has contributed her time and leadership to a number of arts and community organizations, including YMCA 91快色, the 91快色 Philharmonic, the Dean鈥檚 Advisory Council for the Faculty of Science at the 91快色, Winsport, and the United Way of 91快色.
Please join me in celebrating Deborah Yedlin鈥檚 installation as our university鈥檚 14th chancellor.
Elizabeth Cannon
